MAY SOCIAL Please mark your calendar for our Austin LGBT Bar Association Social/Happy Hour/Networking event scheduled for Tuesday May 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This event is being hosted by the law firm of Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody. We will have wine, beer, and snacks. The Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody offices are located at 401 Congress Avenue, Suite 2200, Austin, Texas 78701. We look forward to seeing you there!

CLE THANK YOU: The Austin LGBT Bar CLE luncheon that was held on April 9th was incredibly informative. We would like to thank our presenters, Elise Harriger and Sarah Woelk from the Casa Marianella project, who put on a fascinating program about the asylum issues facing LGBT persons. We will soon be promoting our next CLE event.

Association Purposes

1) To promote education on issues relating to LGBT law;

2) to study and report on laws, decisions, and governmental regulations as they may affect the rights, responsibilities, and needs of LGBT people;

3) to provide a common forum for individuals interested in the legal issues of LGBT people; and

4) to raise the profile and acceptance of LGBT individuals within the legal community and serve as examples for professionalism.
